When I first opened this months box, I was left feeling a little underwhelmed. Not really bowled over by the products, not too excited about the brands, I felt abit disappointed.
But you should never judge a book by its cover and as I delved into the box, I remembered what beauty boxes were all about and I've found some new favourites.
So here's what I got in this months box:
Arrow Boost Colour Enhancing Lip Balm - £11
Model Co More Brows - £13
Polaar - Polar Night Cream - £9.60 Value
Indeed labs Hydraluron Moisture Boosting Mask - £5 Value
Amika Nourishing Mask - £1.59
Regenerate Enamel Science Advanced Toothpaste - £2.60
Total Value - £42.85
The only product I was initially excited to try was the Hydraluron Face Mask which is an absolute dream. As soon as pay day arrives I'll be running to my local Boots and stocking up on these. I was having a particular bad skin day - breakouts, dry patches and flakiness and after leaving this on for 15 minutes my skin felt soft, smooth and as if nothing had been wrong.
Another product I love from this box is the Polar Night Cream. I've never heard anything about this brand before, but this night cream is just perfect. It's hydrating without being too thick, it works great on my oily skin and leaves my face feeling refreshed when I wake. But the thing I love the most about this is the scent. It's almost powdery & lavender like. Such a relaxing scent that gets you off to sleep in no time - and a great sample size too!
The Model Co More Brows is a great dupe for the Benefit Gimme Brow - it's just a shame that this shade is just a little too dark for me, but used with a light hand I can make this work. It's got strong colour and works to thicken the brows with the tiny little fibers suspended within the gel formula.
The Arrow Lip Balm, Amika Hair Mask and the Regenerate toothpaste are the products that initially made me disappointed at the box. They're not products to get excited about, but nice to have and they'll get used at some point.
I do feel that my Birchbox subscription may be coming to an end - I'm just not as excited as I used to be.
