Garnier Pure Active Micellar Cleansing Water Review

Garnier Pure Active Micellar Cleansing Water
I love micellar water. The magical liquid effortlessly removes even waterproof makeup with the littlest amount of effort, and is ideal for lazy girls to take their makeup off at the end of the day.

I've tried a few waters in my time, with the original Garnier being my favourite, but ultimately, Micellar waters are all the same thing, aren't they?

That's what I thought until I picked this one up. Yeah, it wasn't the same colour bottle, but how different can a micellar water from the same brand be?

Alot different, apparently.

Since I've been using this, my skin hasn't been at its best, which doesn't make much sense to me. I haven't be using this any differently, I've not been slacking in other areas of my skincare and I've been having the same water levels, so I'm almost certain that my skin problems are down to this which makes no sense, because this particular waster is supposed to be for sensitive skin types.

I've found it to make my skin uncomfortably tight, causing patches of dryness, given me breakouts and for some reason I find that my moisturiser doesn't then sink in well at all. I hate the feeling of my skin being tight. I think they took the idea of micellar water too far when they added in whatever it is to 'Purify' your skin.

For me, micellar water is just a quick and lazy way to remove makeup - it shouldn't really be relied upon to give you any skin benefits.

It might be that for super oily skin types that this works wonders to mattify, but its just a no go for me. I'm not even sure I'll be finishing the bottle of this, I'm heading straight to boots for the original.

Do you find that all micellar waters are the same? Which one if your favourite?

  1. Ooh finally a review on the other coloured bottle that has caused me so much confusion when in Boots. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you, I'm not sure if I'll get around to trying it cause I have so much of my original one left.

    Beka. xo

  2. That sucks that it's a bit crappy!! I like the 'original' one, so won't try this one!! xx

  3. Ah interesting, I guess they had to mix something up for this one to be a bit different. I will stick with the original! x
