Body Shop Argan Oil Event at the Trafford Centre

I've been a complete comper recently and I love it! Twice in the last month or so I've won two amazing competitions and I couldn't be more grateful.

Mrs Luck over here only won the chance for me and a friend to attend an invite only event at the Body Shop in the Trafford Centre to launch their new Argan Oil range!

We were absolutely blown away by the event! For 2 hours The Body Shop shut off their doors to the public and we were greeted at the door with some bubbly and nibbles.

We were given a presentation which taught us about the history and origins of argan oil - the mountains of Morocco. The women who hand pick the argan nut which makes the oil are given the chance to make their own income, have independence and pride in their work which previously they didn't have! We were told about how this empowers these women and that now their husbands come to them for money, rather than the other way around! Gotta love abit of girl power! And a great reason to buy from the range!

The products in the Argan Oil line range from body butters and solid oils to body scrubs and massage soaps - everything you need for the ultimate indulgent spa day at home! The entire range smells divine!

Me and my friend were treated to both a hand massage and a neck and shoulder massage. Being massage virgins we were a little apprehensive at first, but as soon as we sat down we didn't want it to end. All the staff at The Body Shop in the Trafford Centre were so nice, extremely helpful and a good laugh! We had such a good time!

And to  top the whole evening off we were treated to an amazing goodie bag too! It didn't take long for me to dive into the products and I've given them all a go, so expect some body shop reviews soon!

Overall an amazing night! I'd like to thank The Body Shop for making me their lucky winner, taking my massage virginity and giving us an amazing night!

The Argan Oil Range is available online and instores now!

My First Time...

Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat Review You cheeky little devil, you! What exactly did you think I meant?!
Up until last Sunday, I was a Seche Vite virgin. I know, I know! One of the biggest crimes in the blogger world. And to be honest, the only real reason it took me so long to take the plunge is because I'm tight. That's it! I said it! It takes alot for me to part with my pennies and I was happy using a 99p top coat which left my manicures looking abit shabby to be honest. Until one day, I looked down at my 1 day old, chipped manicure and decided I deserved more from my topcoat.

For a whole £9 for a standard size bottle of clear polish, I was expecting the world from this top coat and let me tell you now, I am far from disappointed!

From my first go, I saw how much of a glossy, hard finish this gave my nails and drying time was significantly reduced! I couldn't help but feel how smooth they were every 5 minutes - there's nothing I love more than a perfect manicure.

It's much thicker than your average top coat and glides on like an absolute dream! It dries seriously quickly and the high shine really is rock solid and sticks around for the entire lifetime of the manicure. Totally worth the investment!

Gone are the day of me getting frustrated with myself after smudging my nails a whole 20 minutes after painting them - with this they will already be dry!

I picked this up at my local Boots for £9 for 14ml - you can get it a little cheaper online.

My love of cream blush

Being a rather pale lady with a zombie like complexion and no idea on how to apply bronzer without looking like an umpa lumpa, blush is pretty much the only option I have at brightening up my face.

My love affair with blush has been going for a very long time now, with powder bushes being the only thing I ever used up until about 12 months ago. Whilst powder blushes do the job at hand my obsession and collection of cream blushes has done nothing but grown and lately I've been using nothing else!

All I want from a blush is a good, pigmented formula with a strong staying power. It needs to be easy to use, easy to blend and give a gorgeous flattering finish.

Cream blushers tick all these boxes for me. A couple f dabs with my fingertips across my cheeks is all it takes to create a glowing complexion. Here's a round up of my favourite ones.

Look Beauty Fresh Cheeks - This is what started me off with my cream blush obsession. One touch with a brush is all you need to get the perfect amount of colour. This semi-matt finish creates a gorgeous healthy glow.

Next up, the Bourjois Cream Blush. This formula is a cream to powder finish - on the cheeks you really can't tell it was a cream blush, but it has all the pigmentation and staying power of one.

The Balm How about them apples cream blush is one of my favourite samples from Birchbox. A multifunctional product which can be used on cheeks and lips and its great on both! This little pan really packs a punch with pigmentation. I'm soo gutted I'm nearly at the bottom of the pan! I'll have to purchase the full size palette when I finish this!

The Boots No 7 Pop and Glow sticks are great for on the go application. It's bullet shaped applicator means you just swipe it across your cheeks, blend and go! No contamination of the product either! Bonus!

And last, but by no means lease is the most recent addition to my collection - Stila Convertible Colours. These beauties give a gorgeous dewy finish to the skin and look as good on the cheeks as they do on the lips! Perfection.

I'm not the only one in love with cream blush, am I?

What should I buy next?

Breakout Saviour

Lush Tea Tree Water

I've got a problem. I think it's a typical beauty blogger problem to be honest - trying out too many products and not sticking to ones you know and love, just for the sake of trying something new. I've never really stuck to a skincare routine or been really loyal to a particular product and this has caused me so many problems in my skin department.

Because I'm always trying out new things and I have no real structure to my skincare routine, its lead me to being mega lazy with it and I end up not going through all the steps that I should. It was inevitable that my skin was going to have a massive freak out, and alas I have been sporting a lovely spot covered chin for the last week or so. Delightful.

My skin has gone oily to the point where at dinner time my makeup is non existent and I seem to be sprouting a new friend every day. Something needs to be done!

I've decided to make a commitment to my skin. I will treat it with the TLC that it deserves.

My skincare commandments:
  • Thou shalt not go to be in my makeup.
  • Thou shalt not binge on chocolate and moan about spots.
  • Thou shalt drink plenty of water. Thou shalt INVEST IN SKINCARE.
The first thing I needed to do was calm everything down and try to eliminate the little family of spots setting up camp on my chin. And the Lush Tea Tree Water does just that.

Tea tree is as natural as you can get in the fight against spots. It's antibacterial properties keep spots at bay, whilst the grapefruit and juniperberry ingredients add a boost of vitamins to the skin, keeping it clean and clear.

One mahoosive bottle of this costs just £7.50 and I can tell you now, this stuff will last me ages!

I use this all over my face after I've cleansed, generally spritzing some on a cotton pad and and focus more on my T-Zone. Within a couple of days my spot seemed to have backed down, oil production has reduced significantly and I have a much more even skintone.

This has definitely found a permanent spot in my skincare ritual, both morning and night.

Now to sort out the rest of my skincare stash!

Are there any other skincare products you'd recommend?

Olay Daily Facials

I went swimming with a friend recently and more often than not, we share a shower. (Keep it clean!)
She looked at me like I was a mental when I pulled out one of my daily facial cloths from Olay and asked what it was.

These clever little cloths are so handy for days like these when you don't have time for the whole cleansing ritual and a million different products. It's so convenient, quick and easy to use.

It's basically a thick, dry face wipe which has some sort of cleanser embedded into the cloth. You rinse it under warm water, rub it together and get a lovely, gentle foam which gets to work on all my makeup and even waterproof mascara with ease.

It does such a good job and the little bumps within the cloth help to really gently exfoliate the skin. Whenever I use this, I don't feel like I've cheated in my cleansing routine because my skin feels amazing - lovely and clean and baby soft.

Olay is such an iconic brand that I often overlook, and I really don't know why. I love their beauty fluid and I might actually go and pick some up.

These are almost always on some sort of offer. Last time I picked these up in Morrisons they were on 2 boxes for £4.

Definitely an essential for me!

I WON with Capital Hair and Beauty!

So last Friday something amazing happened to me. It was my boyfriends birthday so I was off work and we were slouched on the sofa watching Luther on Netflix with some cake. My phone beeped - it was a twitter notification. I thought nothing of it and carried on watching the show. Not long after that, I got another notification and then another. 'Hang on a minute' I thought. 'I'm never this popular on twitter'. When I saw that someone had tweeted congratulating me, I wasn't too sure what was going on, until I read the tweet from Capital Hair and Beauty announcing me as the winner of their absolutely mahoosive twitter giveaway! I couldn't believe it! I have pretty much never won anything of note, so I was over the moon, and I literally danced around the front room. The team at Capital Hair and Beauty were really nice, and my package made it to me by Tuesday!

I've already given a few of the bits a whirl, and so far I love them! Here's what I got:

I have given the blonde stuff to my sister, 'cause obviously I have dark hair. She was very pleased about that, although my recently brunette little sister wasn't so pleased!

I already own quite alot of TIGI stuff, and this is a massive injection into my collection. I haven't tried anything here in the past, so I can't wait to get through it all!

I think you'll be seeing a 'Best of TIGI' post soon, if you'd like?

I'd like to thank Capital Hair and Beauty again so much for the amazing prize!
