Avon Treats

       Avon Haul
I've decided this month to take part in No Spend July, which is going pretty well to be honest. I'm only going to buy essentials when I run out which I think this month will only be skincare products. To be honest, I think I'm going to hold back on the spending as much as I can and start using up the stockpile of beauty products I have at home!

However, I placed this cheeky little order in June, so this totally doesn't count!

I only order from Avon every now and again and I hadn't looked at a catalogue in a while, so I thought it was about time for me to have a gander.

First up, I picked up one of my all time favourites from Avon - a room and linen spray. I got the fragrance Orchid and Blueberry, which I hadn't tried before and I must say, its gorgeous! I have tried nearly all the scents and these are just so amazing, they last for ages and linger around all day!

I was in desperate need of another body scrub and I decided to try something new, as my regular is from the Spa range in Avon. I picked up the Indulging Chocolate Body Scrub from the Avon Naturals Body Care range and I love it! It's really gentle compared to most other scrubs I've tried, so I can use it a couple of times a week. And the smell.... WOW. I smell pretty good after using this! And you get sooo much in the tube too! This will last me a while!

Another one of my favourite Avon products is the Avon Sleep Serenity Pillow Mist. I absolutely swear by this! It's dreamy scent is so relaxing and is perfect for them nights when I just can't manage to drift off to sleep. I have purchased this so many times and I always will.

I also picked up one of their new Gel finish polishes in the shade Wine and Dine Me. I love the shade, but I'm not too sure about it's 'Gel Finish' claims. I'll post a fuller review on this once I've completely made my mind up!

The Avon Makeup setting Spray is also fairly new to the Avon offering, but I haven't tried this enough yet to give a fair verdict just yet. You do get a huge bottle for your money though! I'll keep you posted!

Do you buy from Avon?
What should I try next time around?

New Found Love : Fudge Urban!!

I absolutely love it when I stumble across an absolute gem of a product by accident and it turns out to be amazing. These two hair styling products from Fudge have very quickly claimed a place in my holy grail hair care product shelf!

I'm never really loyal to styling products, mainly because I love trying new things which is the entire reason that these two beauties were discovered. I had heard of Fudge haircare before because my fella has this used on him at the barbers and he was raving about it, and initially these two purchases were for him, but as soon as I smelled them, I knew they had to be mine. Unfortunately, this didn't last very long as he managed to steal them from my bag, and then his brother stole the hairspray from his room, so I'm going to have to go out and buy some more. But seriously, that's how good they are!

I'm going to start off by raving about the Texture Blaster from the Fudge Urban range. First of all, this smells like holiday in a bottle - a summer nights dream! In one spray, it instantly refreshes, gives massive oomph and great hold. It feels abit like a dry shampoo in that you can actually feel the particles, only it gives great hold too. A little of this in the roots and mid lengths really goes a long way, adding a really good amount of volume whilst still looking polished.

The Iced Coconut Cocktail Hairspray also smells like a dream - exactly how the name suggests. The hold on this is amazing -  a strong matte finish that is easily brushed out. This is perfect for keeping messy top knots in place, whilst still letting the look still appear effortless.

These two together are a great combo - a mess bed head look that will stick around and smell great! I'm going to give the rest of the range a look after my July spending ban, see if there's anything in there worth picking up!

This range is on offer at Superdrug at the moment, so definitely give it a look!

Have you tried anything from the range? What should I pick up?

July 2014 Birchbox Review

It's that time of the month again where I give you my views on this months Birchbox . To be honest, I haven't been in too much of a rush to write this review, because I was left feeling uninspired by the contents of the box this month.

This months theme was Sun, Sea and Sand which I sort of got from the products in the box, but nothing was too overly exciting to me.

Here's what I got:

  • Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream
  • LAQA & Co Sheer Lip Lube in Menatour
  • Whish - Three wishes lavender body butter
  • Weleda - Millet Nourishing Shampoo
  • Gilchrist & Soames - English Spa Sea Kelp Extract Mineral Bath

Lifestyle extra - Ultradex Spray

The Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream was probably the most anticipated product for most subscribers, but it wasn't for me. I've tried out Balance Me stuff before and I didn't get along with it. I gave it a go, but did anyone else get a really small amount of product in their tube, considering the size of it? Mine's nearly gone in just a couple of uses, and I've not really had much of a go to see how it's getting on.

The Whish lavender body butter and Gilchrist and Soames mineral bath are handy for me, as I tend to stay out alot, that's why I love almost anything travel size. They both smell pretty good, and do a decent job, but to be honest with these types of products, I tend to just buy whats on offer at the supermarket. The body butter is really good for just before bed though, really relaxing.

The product I was anticipating the most was the Lip Lube from LAQA & CO because I had seen endless shots of gorgeous swatches on instagram, so I couldn't wait until mine fell through the door! Unfortunately I got the shade Menatour - a purple colour which definitely doesn't compliment my skin in a nice way at all. I was gutted - but gave this to my mum as she often goes for the Goth look.

I'm also not really a fan of getting tiny shampoo samples - the Weleda Millet Nourishing Shampoo will come in handy for one overnight trip no doubt, but one go really doesn't give me much to evaluate other than the smell.

The only product I think I'm going to get some real use out of is the UltraDex oral spray. As soon as I took the picture I swiftly threw this into my handbag. A lovely taste, this is super refreshing and to be honest, a great way for me to curb my cravings! I used to use tick tacks, but a blast of this freshness gets rid of cravings almost instantly and gives me fresh breath, too!

This box just wasn't for me, but in no way have I lost my love for Birchbox! They've had such a good run these last few months and I can't always get it my way, so I'll shut up and wait for next months box!

I just don't get Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish

I'm really sorry guys, but I just don't get what everyone sees in the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish.

I was super excited to see this in my Birchbox, but at first use, I knew this just wasn't for me!
This had a pretty huge cult following and with its promise of smoother, clearer skin I was more than happy to give it a go.

With this being in more of the 'high end' bracket for me, I didn't feel I got a 'high end' cleanse. Yeah, it did the job, but as an overall cleansing experience I much prefer my No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser.

I really didn't like the smell - to me it smelt slightly medicinal which my nose really didn't like. I like cleansers to feel refreshing and calming and I just didn't get that from this. The texture was just too thin, not luxurious or anything and for me, the results were average. Not enough to make me want to run out and buy the Liz Earle range.

Overall, I'm not overly impressed. Like I said, it did do the job, but when using a cleanser like this, I like the feel of a mini facial. Nothing spa like from this for me.

I'll be sticking to my No7 I think!

Wishlist #1

Hi Guys! Sorry I've been a bit missing in action recently. I'm ill (sympathy please). So instead of letting another day go by where I don't post because I haven't taken any pictures, I thought I'd cheat a little and do a wishlist post.

It's not quite cheating, but It's something that Miniemble hasn't seen before, but I think I'll make this a regular feature!

I'm lusting over so many things at the moment. I wish I had unlimited money and I would seriously empty the shelves! ALL THE SHELVES!

First off, I'm pretty desperate for a new iPhone. I've had my phone just coming up to two years and it is so unbelievably slow I cant cope with it. I upgrade next month and think a nice new shiny gold iPhone 5s is on the cards! If next month any of you are in the market for a REALLY slow iPhone 4 let me know! haha!

I'm also in need of a new hair dryer. Mines been bust for a looooonnng time now and I've never gone out and got a new one. This means I've shoved my frizzy hair up most days and not been bothered to try and style it. I need to get out of this hair rut and sort it out! Any hair dyer recommendations?

I've been wanting a Stila Convertible Colour for soooo long. But £16  really is just too much for me to spend on one makeup item. Skincare, maybe, but not makeup. Although this may sneak into my basket one day soon!

How amazing have the House of Holland nails been recently? I'm not much of an acryllic girl, and I love to just stick on some fake nails to add abit of 'Ooomph' to an outfit. Their designs are amazing, and so easy to do yourself!

The Pixi Glow Tonic is also something I've been wanting to try for a while. My face is really bad at the moment, and I think a chemical exfoliate will do just the trick! Lily Pebbles was raving about this in a recent favourites video and it just re-ignited my lust for this!

Like I said, my skin has been abit grubby recently - I don't know if that's because I'm a little poorly or tired, but it's just really dull. I really want to try out the Glamglow face mask because I've heard so many amazing things about it, and of course the Clarisonic. This looks like it would buff all the nastiness away and I'd have a sparkling, glowing complexion underneath. That is what it does, isn't it? A girl can dream...

Last but not least. Who loves Emma Stone? The face of Revlon, I'm convinced that I will look like her if I use the stuff they use on her face. Good logic? I think so. My primers are about to run out, so I definitely I'm going to give the Skinlights Primers a go next time i head to the shops!

What's on your wish lists this month?

Any recommendations of what else I should be picking up?

What's on my nails Wednesdays : Strawberries!

So, I'm back yet again showing off another gorgeous design of the Primark false nails - strawberries!

On a recent shopping trip these caught my eye and I couldn't resist, so I snapped them up! They are so cute and summery and lift my mood every time I look down at them!

As always, these are amazing, so easy and quick to apply and their staying power is about 1 week before I start loosing any nails. I find the Primark false nails really easy to remove, but they can leave my nails in abit of a mess afterwards, so abit of TLC will no doubt be required next week! But it'll be worth it!

All this cuteness for 50p! YES!! 50p!! These were in the bargain bin, and at a normal price of £1 they would have made their way into my basket anyway, so priced at 50p it was a complete no brainer!

Unfortunately I've got a feeling that this cut price means that this design will be discontinued so if you like it, get down there and stock up!

To be honest the range of designs is massive, so if you don't manage to get your hands on these ones I'm pretty sure you'll find a design you'll love!

These are so good for nail lovers who don't have a steady hand when it comes to nail art!

What's on your nails this week?

Putting the Beauty Blender and Cleanser to the test!

I was so excited to see this little beauty I'm my June Birchbox! An absolute beauty world favourite and a product I'd been intrigued with for a while. I hadn't opted to use a sponge to apply my makeup since my teenage years after realising how cakes and uneven my foundation looked.

The hype surrounding this always got me thinking back to them days and remembering the bad blending. URGH! How could sponges have changed so much since my younger years that this was raved about? It really didn't take me long to find out out why, from my first application I was in love.

I've gives such an airbrushed finish to all of my foundations, BB creams, you name it, it works! I couldn't believe the finish I got this with! It was so easy to use and blend with. It didn't drag my skin or the products, it just made everything look perfect and flawless with minimal effort on my part.

I thought I'd have problems with the shape of it, but I think this is the best bit about it! I tend to use the sides and point the most to place and buff in my foundation and get right in and round my eyes and nose with ease.

Unlike some other sponges I've tried, I don't find that much product gets absorbed by the sponge and don't think I'm using any more product than I normally would, which was an initial concern. I have been using this pretty much everyday since I got it and ought it was about time for me to give it abit of a clean.

Unlike most people, I actually enjoy washing my makeup brushes. For some reason, I find it quite therapeutic, but cleaning sponges is something I've never done. I've just always thrown them away and go on to the next!

The Blender Cleanser I received in my Birchbox was a great added bonus and I was excited to give it ago on both my beauty blender and my brushes. I normally wish my brushes under running water with baby shampoo which leaves the bathroom looking like a bomb site! This method is so much cleaner, quicker and easier.

The cleanser is ultimately just a bar of soap and holding this in one hand, giving a brush a swirl, rinse and repeat, my brushes were squeaky clean in no time!

Same goes for the beauty Blender, although washing a sponge seemed completely alien to me. I soaked it in warm water, gave it a swirl and repeated. I had to do this a few times as some bits of foundation seemed to be deeply embedded, but an extra bit of effort got the job done.

The sponge almost tripled in size, which I found quite hilarious to be honest! It took about 24 hours to dry out on my windowsill, but my house isn't always the warmest being honest!

This is a great little duo and I'll definitely be using is method of cleansing from now on!

Have you used these?

What did you think?

Rediscovered Favourite - ELF Mineral Blush in Joy

ELF Mineral Blush - Joy - £5.95

I love having a good root through my stash every now and again, because I'll find products stored away that I replaced but at one time held a flame for, and this is one of them products.

About 4 years ago, my entire face would have be ELF. I still like it today, but I like to try more things from other brands and experience some exciting launches.

ELF is a really affordable and good quality online beauty retailer, and this blush is from it's mineral line.

Something I have noticed from when I was an original elfie is that prices have rose quite quickly. I understand that in general prices are rising, but I always think of ELF as being cheaper than the high street, but nowadays, its about the same. I picked this up a long time ago (eek) and I'm pretty sure I didn't pay £5.95 for it, but to be honest, if you follow ELF on social media, they pretty much have some promo going on all the time!

So yeah, this blush is amazing. It doesn't look much in the pot, and initially I didn't get why I bought it, but in one swift sweep over my apples my whole complexion was brightened, I looked awake and...Sweet. I really think I look like a cute dolly when I wear this, its barely there, but gives a nice healthy flush to my pale complexion.

A little really goes a long way too, which is why this pot has lasted me so long!

Since dragging this out a few weeks ago, this has been an almost everyday staple! I love it!

Have you tried any of the ELF range?

What would you recommend?
