I'm really enjoying this series, it's forcing me to look after my nails and to be abit more experimental with my nails, which otherwise I wouldn't be.
This week, I've gone back to my favorite combo of black and gold, not really seasonal appropriate, but to be fair, the suns gone back in & the scarves have come back out!
I've been addicted to looking at nail designs on Pinterest lately, and I saw something really similar to this, so I thought I'd give it a try. I really like designs that focus on the cuticle, inverted French nails I think they're called? I'm definitely going to be trying out some more designs like this, maybe with a softer, rounder touch.
To get this look, I used a Ciate mini in Sand Dune (RRP £9). I don't have much of this left, and it's one of my favourite golds, so I used this sparingly, only where I knew it would appear under the black. It's got a gorgeous metallic shimmer to it, and you can get this easily with one coat, but I like to build the colour up with two.
The black I used was the Leighton Denny Polish I got in a Birchbox, in the shade of Maneater. I adore this black. It is so glossy, opaque in one coat, and really long lasting. It's exactly what I've been looking for! I did the design freehand because I couldn't be bothered faffing to be honest, but I don't think it looks all that bad. It was easily achieved in one coat, but doing my right hand was hard!
What do you think of the design?
