Gift Ideas for Valentines day!

I know I'll be causing a massive divide in people when writing this post, with many people saying 'Valentines day is soooo commercialised' and 'it was created by greeting card companies' and to be honest, that has always been my thinking too. But this year, I've decided to make an effort for my fella (for the first time in 8 years!) and get a little creative in my gift ideas.

We've pretty much never celebrated Valentines day other than giving each other a card because it can put so much pressure on you to be over the top, overly romantic and often spend money that you just done have. So this year we've (well I've) decide to get each other a little something, get a Dominos feast and lock ourselves away with some films and a duvet - my perfect idea of a date night.

I've been thinking about what I could get Dan for weeks - hes not at all romantic, so I needed something that said I cared without being too soppy or sentimental. This is what I came up with!

After flicking through Pinterest, I found this super sweet & cringe-worthy idea for a Valentines day present - so I just HAD to do it! 3 tubes of Rolos taped together to look like dynamite, with 'you da bomb on it' Just too cute! I've also hidden some cute notes inside the roll too!  Again, another one to make you cynics vom - 'I'm nuts about you'

Head massager & back scratcher - both for my benefit to be honest - these get me off doing the dreaded 'Just scratch my back for me there' tasks that I find incredibly annoying. But still, shows I care...

A reminder of what he will be getting off me in the future. This cushion was too cute not to get, was only about £6 from Tesco!

I turned my hand to some crafts too, and made a garland after seeing a tutorial on Pinterest - this took some time and effort, but it was worth it! I also made this cross stitch picture too  - abit rude I know! (Sorry mum!) but it's definitely in line with mine and Dans humour!

Last but not least, I got the cutest card ever off Etsy - the seller is Euclid Street Shop I really recommend you go over and take a look at her shop! This is such a cute design, nothing like what you get in a normal card shop, and its something I say to Dan on a regular basis! The shop is in America, but the card came really quickly, I was really surprised!

There's my ideas for this year. I have got him a treat that I know he wont roll his eyes at, but I don't want him to see this and ruin all of his presents. Everything in this post was super cheap, most picked up for £1 on eBay etc. Perfect for you if you are watching your pennies, just want to give a cute gift, or if you haven't been with the person for too long and don't want to commit to anything just yet!

Happy Valentines day!
