Birchbox : First Impressions

Beauty boxes have been something available to beauty fanatics for a while now, with a number of options on the market. Beauty boxes come in a number of shapes and sizes, with many disappearing from the market as fast as they arrived. They promise to give a little package of jay at the same time each month, with samples ranging from luxury beauty and haircare to health products.

I was originally subscribed to Glossybox for sometime as well as FeelUnique until that stopped. I remember the excitement each month after getting my dispatch notice but as the months went on, i was becoming more and more disappointed with the Glossybox offerings. I kept receiving perfume samples which I hate along with 1 sachet of stuff, which at 1 use don't give you enough time to decide if the product is for you, which is exactly the purpose of beauty boxes.

After about 12 months, I cancelled my subscription. Since I cancelled, boxes like Shesaidbeauty, Jolie Box and Birchbox have entered the market and after recommendations and seeing good reviews, I decided to take the plunge back into the subscription world and subscribe to Birchbox.

For £10 a month (+P&P), Birchbox offer 5-7 luxury products based upon your profile (however I'm not too sure how personalised the selection are to be honest) and give you the opportunity to review the products and buy them at discounted prices from their online shop.

My first impressions of the box were that I am really impressed! I was initially surprised at the size of the box as in comparison to other beauty boxes it is much smaller, but it is definitely not lacking!

All of the products come in a small drawstring bag which I also think is amazing. The October box has an exciting selection of products, which I cannot wait to try!

The products I got were Chia Shots chia seeds, a dietary supplement I have heard a lot about and as I am on a health kick, a welcome sample to try.

I also received theBalm staniac cheek and lip stain, which is the first time I have used anything from theBalm, a brand I have read a lot about. I have already used this, but want to try it out a little more before I pass judgement.

The next sample was the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer which i have heard amazing things about, but couldn't justify spending so much money on so close to Christmas. Ill see if it works, and if it turns out to be a holy grail product...well I might have to give myself an early Christmas present!

I also received Dr Lipps Nipple Balm for Lips (pahahahahaha). Immaturity aside, this balm is amazing and can be used on what ever area needs a bit of extra care. I'll stick to the lips for now!

I also received 3 sachets of Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream. I hadn't heard much about this, so quickly looked at reviews online, and may people think its a wonder cream. Ive got enough product in these sachets to decide for myself!

Skin exfoliation is still something im relatively new at, so I'll be giving this generous sample of Dr Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant a whirl to see if it has any effect on my skin.

Last but not least is the KMS California Curl Up Wave foam. KMS is a brand I have been curious about for a while now, so I'm very happy to have the chance to try out one of their products.

Overall I'm extremely happy with this months Birchbox and i cannot wait to see what in store for me next month!
