I'm not often one to carry around a load of cosmetics with me each day, although I am considering upping the amount of makeup I carry as I often look like death by the end of the day. To be honest, I'm just too lazy to touch up my face throughout the day, but I love the confidence that a fresh face of make up gives me.
In these past few weeks, I've had to carry some essentials as I have been seeing friends more after work, having horrible breakouts and dry patches and the heat melting makeup clean off my face. I'd seriously look like shit if I hadn't had these with me!
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer: I picked this up after every beauty blogger and their mum raved about it! I have to say, I'm not exactly blown away, but I do get some of the hype. This is brightening for the under eye, even on my pale skin as I do suffer with bad dark circles, but I do find it applyies quite cakey. I have bought a new tube of this which I keep in my daily makeup stash and this one is running out and when it does I'm considering buying the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer, as i have heard this is moisturising for people who find the Collection one cakey.
Avon Ultra Colour Rich Lipsticks - in Pink Cuddle and Carnation I like to have a couple of options of lip colour on me to perk up my look throughout the day. It's about the only regular bit of makeup touch up I do do. The colours are very similar, with carnation being being my favourite. I think it compliments my pale skin well. (I fancy myself an English Rose!)
Avon SuperExtend Infinitize Mascara - Okay, I hold my hands up. I'm a sucker for special offers and promotions. I picked this up on a whim out of my Avon catalogue on its launch at a reduced price, not needing a new mascara at all. I'd even forgot I'd ordered it until the package landed on my lap and I was pleasantly surprised! The brush itself is slightly curved, with three ball groupings of bristles and a spikey ball on the end of the applicator, much like the Benefit They're real! Mascara. The brush really separates the lashes, giving great length. The formula is good, but I'm never crazy about mascara formulas when a mascara is new, I like it try dry out and then I feel it works better.
Avon True Colour Eyeshadow Duo in Healthy Glow - I keep this little compact in my bag mainly for the huge mirror as for some strange reason I always lose my mirrors. The colours are actually really nice, great for a subtle nude eye but can be built up for a smokey evening look.
Hair bobbles, Clips & Nail files (pretty self explanatory) I rarely take time styling my hair in the mornings, I enjoy the extra 10 minutes in bed. That often leave me sorting out the birds nest at 10.30 an when I've finally realised how shocking I look! Always handy to have.
As I said earlier, I'm a sucker for promotions (really I shouldn't be, I work in marketing and know all the tricks...) and although the idea around the compressed cans seemed gimmicky, I still went and purchased. I often pick up minis just to feel like a giant (everyone else does this too right?!) and I can't get over how cute these mini bottles look! But awwing aside, does it work? Is it any different than a bigger bottle? Well this is my second can and at first I wasn't sold with the idea that it has the same amount in it as a bigger can, as mine ran out, FAST. Upon getting my second bottle, I realised, I was over spraying. The spray power on this really does pack a punch, and a little really does go a long way. This one smells amazing too!
Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist - I love this product! I use it for so many reasons, to give my face abit of moisture when it's feeling dry, to freshen up if I'm too hot or to give my face more of a dewy look after I've applied my makeup. This is so refreshing and I love applying it. This doesn't do a great deal for setting my makeup like the ELF mist and set spray, but I see this more as a skin benefit rather than something to set my makeup. I would repurchase this, however there's a few more facial sprays on the market like this that I want to try out first.
Palmers Cocoa Butter Hand Cream - I've been having big problems with my hands recently with skin cracking, dry cuticles and hard skin, so I had to turn to a heavy duty hand cream. I think this is exactly the same formula as the bigger bottles, a thick, non greasy cream that smells deliciously like chocolate. I wish it was edible. This has done a great job for hydrating the neglected skin on my hands, and will be a savior during the colder months!
Steam Cream - this is a multi purpose cream, but I've never really figured out what to use it for. The consistency is lighter than a body lotion, but not quite light enough to be used on my face. I kept it in my bag if any dry patches crop up, but I'm just not too sure about it. I received this as a sample in a beauty box, and I don't think I'll repurchase, but I will recycle the tin!
Sudocrem - this product makes me so nostalgic! Any scrape or cut, I remember my mum pulled this out, slapped it on with a plaster and I was good to go. This month, I've had some serious problems, and getting abit over enthusiastic with some wax strips (ouch) caused me to get burn like scabs on my face (yes, I was waxing there ) this was a life saver, and does up healing time and they were (almost) gone within a couple of days.
